Tomintoul 12 y.o. Oloroso Cask Whisky. Only 13800 bottles have been released of tomintoul 12 Y.O. Speyside Single Malt finished in specially slected Oloroso Sherry butts. It is a testament to Master Distiller Robert Fleming whose family has been making whisky in the Speyside-Glenlivet region for four generation. He has carefully selected single malt distilled in 2010 and matured initially in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak casks. The single malt in these casks has been expertly conected then finished in the finest Oloroso Sherry butts sourced from Andalucia, Spain. The Oloroso Sherry butts perfectly complement Tomintoul Single Malt imparting rich fruit flavours, which enhance the character and complexity of whisky. Smel is deep and rich with aromas of driedfruits, milk chocolate, toasted walnuts and sweet spices. Taste is rounded and sweet with layers of maple pecan pie, chocolate coated brazil nuts, fruit cake and cappuccino foam with hints of cedarwood and rolling tobacco. Finish is chocolate sponge cake, golden raisins and hints of toffee apple fading into dark chocolate and a warming oak spice linger.
